[Alsa-user] Terratec PHASE 22 setup - only getting left channel/mono

Hi!

I have just bought a Terratec PHASE 22, as there seemed to be good
support for it in Alsa.  However, I have been unable to get anything
but the left channel during playback and amixer lists the output
channels as mono:

Simple mixer control 'DAC',0
  Capabilities: volume volume-joined
  Playback channels: Mono
  Capture channels: Mono
  Limits: 0 - 127
  Mono: 54 [43%]

so I'm wondering, "what's going on"?
