I've searched the archives and found no actual solutions to these issues. Here is my setup: SB Extigy using exaudio driver and alsa [working fine] Debian Etch Everything using Alsa output [snd-usb-audio] works just fine, not a hitch. Everything that wants to use OSS output yield no sound with the playback going at over twice the speed. The timer moves super fast on XMMS with no sound output. The problem is not limited to Audacity or XMMS, rather every program that wants OSS output. The problem lies somewhere with buggy ALSA-OSS emulation. I have the alsa-oss package installed, not that it makes any difference. I know my dsp devices are setup correctly, and the correct drivers are being used by soundcore. IS there an option for me, or is Linux really behind in 4 year old audio? |
