All (in reference to my previous post below) I ran "snddevices" (which I didn't think I had to) and JACK can now see the midi devices, but alsamixer still gives: alsamixer: relocation error: alsamixer: symbol snd_mixer_selem_get_playback_dB, version ALSA_0.9 not defined in file libasound.so.2 with link time reference and aplay gives: ALSA lib setup.c:548:(add_elem) Cannot obtain info for CTL elem (MIXER,'IEC958 Playback Default',0,0,0): No such file or directory aplay: main:544: audio open error: No such file or directory any thoughts? brian On Sat, 2005-12-03 at 10:47 -0500, Brian L Scipioni wrote: > I have successfully built the last ten releases of ALSA on RHL 8,9 and > FC2 with no problem.
