Hi, Some times ago I installed a computer with MythTV, an Hauppauge PVR 150=20 tuner card on a brand new GeForce 6100 motherboard. For the sound part I=20 used an old Guillemot Fortissimo II sound card which is connected using=20 the spdif out to a denon avr 1800 amplifier. (it seems that the onboard=20 audio is a bit new and not yet supported, but I did not try to make it=20 work btw). My linux is the latest ubuntu build (breezy badger) kernel v2.6.12-9-386=20 and ALSA Version 1.0.9 (Sun May 29 07:31:02 2005 UTC). I have basic=20 stereo sound on my amplifier but when I try to use the AC3 passthrough=20 from mplayer as stated on the alsa wiki I just get a "click" sound and=20 then nothing more. It seems that my amplifier shutted down to avoid=20 damage, if I want to hear back sound again I need to switch it off/on. I've gone through all tutorials and so on I could find on the net but I=20 am running out of solution right now. So if somebody could help, thanks. St=E9phane |
