[Alsa-user] Delta 66 configuration problem

Hi all,

I have a system with a 2.4.27 kernel and alsa 1.0.5, and two Delta 66 
cards installed. The snd-ice1712 driver recognizes both cards fine. With 
only the skeleton .asoundrc, arecord crashes the system when it is run. 
I need to add more features in the .asoundrc file I know, but I hoped 
the bare minimum starting configuration would at least give me 
diagnostic suggestions.

Before rounding out the .asoundrc file, I have this quick question: Is 
the software environment adequate to run these cards? i.e., kernel and 
alsa versions? Maybe my first step should be to upgrade them and then 
start again.

Any suggestions most welcome. I will doubtless be back.
