I use udev and ALSA 1.0.9b, and my sound card is an Audigy 2 Platinum (not Ex). I am trying to set up lirc, but I have not been able to get my ir port to respond to my remote. I have tried several sets of batteries, and am looking for any output on /dev/midi and /dev/midi*. When I load the module I get: HAL_5000D dev # modprobe -v snd-emu10k1 insmod /lib/modules/2.6.13-ck3/alsa-driver/acore/snd.ko cards_limit=1 insmod /lib/modules/2.6.13-ck3/alsa-driver/acore/snd-hwdep.ko insmod /lib/modules/2.6.13-ck3/alsa-driver/synth/snd-util-mem.ko insmod /lib/modules/2.6.13-ck3/alsa-driver/acore/snd-page-alloc.ko insmod /lib/modules/2.6.13-ck3/alsa-driver/acore/snd-timer.ko insmod /lib/modules/2.6.13-ck3/alsa-driver/acore/snd-pcm.ko insmod /lib/modules/2.6.13-ck3/alsa-driver/pci/ac97/snd-ac97-codec.ko insmod /lib/modules/2.6.13-ck3/alsa-driver/acore/seq/snd-seq-device.ko insmod /lib/modules/2.6.13-ck3/alsa-driver/acore/snd-rawmidi.ko insmod /lib/modules/2.6.13-ck3/alsa-driver/pci/emu10k1/snd-emu10k1.ko enable_ir=1 ...so I'm pretty sure the /etc/modules.d/alsa settings are getting passed. When I check my loaded modules, I have: HAL_5000D dev # lsmod Module Size Used by snd_emu10k1 116740 3 snd_rawmidi 21152 1 snd_emu10k1 snd_seq_device 7564 2 snd_emu10k1,snd_rawmidi snd_ac97_codec 83452 1 snd_emu10k1 snd_pcm 83332 3 snd_emu10k1,snd_ac97_codec snd_timer 22148 2 snd_emu10k1,snd_pcm snd_page_alloc 8068 2 snd_emu10k1,snd_pcm snd_util_mem 3712 1 snd_emu10k1 snd_hwdep 7712 1 snd_emu10k1 snd 50148 12 snd_emu10k1,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq_device,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm,snd_timer,snd_hwdep wacom 13440 0 emu10k1_gp 3072 0 gameport 12552 2 emu10k1_gp joydev 8384 0 evdev 7552 1 ata_piix 7812 0 sata_via 6276 0 sata_svw 5636 0 sata_sil 6788 0 sata_promise 8324 4 libata 42244 5 ata_piix,sata_via,sata_svw,sata_sil,sata_promise sbp2 22408 0 ohci1394 32692 0 ieee1394 91224 2 sbp2,ohci1394 ohci_hcd 19588 0 uhci_hcd 32016 0 usb_storage 30980 0 usbhid 33376 0 ehci_hcd 29704 0 usbcore 110076 7 wacom,ohci_hcd,uhci_hcd,usb_storage,usbhid,ehci_hcd ...so I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Thanks, Clay |
