The alsa driver with the debug option enabled (full), an additional message is printed for the module option option "model=asus": Sep 7 21:59:39 undertaker kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:1b.0[A] -> Link [LNKA] -> GSI 11 (level, low) -> IRQ 11 Sep 7 21:59:39 undertaker kernel: ALSA /home/psalazar/build/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/pci/hda/../../alsa-kernel/pci/hda/patch_realtek.c:1409: hda_codec: Unknown model for ALC880 However, all would be fine (alsamixer, aplay, ...) unless there is no sound. Just for experience, the "model=test" gives the following message: Sep 7 22:03:18 undertaker kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:1b.0[A] -> Link [LNKA] -> GSI 11 (level, low) -> IRQ 11 Sep 7 22:03:18 undertaker kernel: ALSA /home/psalazar/build/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/pci/hda/hda_codec.c:1555: hda_codec: model 'test' is selected Everything else is equal: no sound. As you advised, I report it as a bug: https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=1402 There are plenty of similar problems for hda-intel... :-( let's see. My sincerely thanks for all your help. :-) Regards, Pedro Salazar |
