I do as above instruction:
and at last "modprobe snd-intel8x0m" (not snd-intel8x0)

If I run "modprobe snd-intel8x0m" again, no error output now, and no
"/dev/dsp", etc files yet. And check "lsmod | grep intel8x0m", it
exists !!

BY way, I just recieve info from Benq, it's audio chip is Conexant
CS20551, but he cannot tell if this chip provide both audio & modem
(which you mean AMC'97 ?)

If it as you point-out it's AMC'97, which driver should be approiate ?
(I have try intel8x0, everything looks OK(no error for modprobe,
alsamixer,....), but just no sound)
