[Alsa-user] configure ESI U24

Hello,
did anybody succeed in getting a sound in/out a U24-usb-interface.
The card seems to be recognized, there are 2 faders visible in alsamixer.
Aplay reports a broken pipe and quits ...
Any working configuration suggestions?
