I'm having problems getting this thing to work and ive noticed that other edirol controllers work out of the box (its the same product line, just more keys). Heres my story, Im running 2.6.7 and usb-midi and snd-usb-audio are both compiled fine as modules, and run fine. At first i didn't think my controller was being picked up at all, but then i noticed /proc/bus/usb/devices... T: Bus=02 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=01 Cnt=01 Dev#= 3 Spd=12 MxCh= 0 D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=00 Prot=ff MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1 P: Vendor=0582 ProdID=0033 Rev= 1.00 S: Manufacturer=Roland S: Product=EDIROL PCR So it is there. Also when i lsusb... Bus 002 Device 003: ID 0582:0033 Roland Corp. Also /proc/asound/cards... 2 [PCR ]: USB-Audio - PCR EDIROL PCR at usb-0000:00:02.0-2, full speed However when i cat /proc/asound/card2/midi0 i get... Output 0 Tx bytes : 0 Output 1 Tx bytes : 0 Input 0 Rx bytes : 0 Input 1 Rx bytes : 0 Input 2 Rx bytes : 0 Ie, it doesn't seem to be recieving anything. Also when i cat everything midi in /dev/sound and hit the keys like a coked up racoon i get absolutely nothing. Now i saw a problem like this on this list before (and hense why ive asked here, clever huh ;) ), but it was from a while ago. Something like January 2003 or something. I was hoping somebody could give me a more up to date solution, or a solution at all (ive no idea if the patch provided back then works or not). Any help would be appreciated guys, thanks a lot! Cheers! -John |
