Hi I'm thinking about getting an Echo Mia to use with Mplayer 1.0pre and ALSA 1.0.x on an Epia box running Linux 2.4.something -- according to the project page for Mia drivers, the digital out is currently 'untested' and is the most important feature for me, so I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience/success with the Mia card? And if you HAVE got digital out working on the Mia, does the Mia natively support decent out at 44.1Khz? Currently I'm using the epia onboard didital audio out, whcih is native 48Khz, and having to upsample in mplayer to get decent(ish) sound quality -- the Epia's internal 44.1-48 converter is rubbish! I'd prefer not to have to play with sample rates in software if I cuold avoid it. Failing both of the above, any recommendations for the 'best' digital quality with ALSA, for an audio card that will fit into an Epia box? thanks |
