I'm using the prebuilt "surround51" can I make a surround71 alias just by copying that and changing all the 5s to 7s ???? Here's what I've stuck in my ~/.asoundrc, any feedback is much appreciated pcm.front_left { type plug slave.pcm surround51 slave.channels 6 route_policy "null" ttable.0.0 1 } pcm.front_right { type plug slave.pcm surround51 slave.channels 6 route_policy "null" ttable.0.1 1 } pcm.rear_left { type plug slave.pcm surround51 slave.channels 6 route_policy "null" ttable.0.2 1 } pcm.rear_right { type plug slave.pcm surround51 slave.channels 6 route_policy "null" ttable.0.3 1 } Alexander Macdonald wrote: > Hi > > I'm blown away by the number of controls in alsamixer for this card, I'm > able to control the front, center and rear speaker volumes, but there > doesnt seem to be a control for the side speakers. > > Also I'd be grateful for someone who could show me what voodoo magic I > can put into my ~/.asoundrc to create a device that lets me play a sound > through just one out of the 7 speakers > > Thanks for the help! > > Alex > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > The SF.Net email is sponsored by EclipseCon 2004 > Premiere Conference on Open Tools Development and Integration > See the breadth of Eclipse activity.
