Have you tried setting capture to CD-in and using arecord to record from that? I'm having the same problem... but I can get sound from and record from my cd-ROM drive, but not from my line in or mic. I'm not using sb live though (via8233 on board), but it might help you.... then you can help me! ;) Dusty --- Erik Steffl <st...@bi...> wrote: > no matter what I do I just can't get sb live! to record, here's what I > tried: > > arecord to file or arecord|aplay > > muting and unmuting various capture channels, namely the following > (that's for mic in 2 and rca on the front panel): > > Line LiveDrive > Line LiveDrive Capture > Line LiveDrive 1 > > Aux > Capture > Mix > Mix Mono > > btw why do some channels have capture channel (like Line LiveDrive > above) and some don't (like Line LiveDrive 1)? > > do these ports work (for recording?) > > relared: it was asked before but I saw no responses - what do various > controls on sb live! mean? > > it is also very hard to figure out which features are supported for > given cards - would it be possible to make the supported card matrix a > little bit more detailed? as it is now it doesn't say much - it says the > card is supported or no but nothing about specific features (e.g. front > panel midi in on sb live! etc.) > > alsa 0.9, kernel 2.4.18, debian unstable > > TIA > > erik > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > Sponsored by: > ThinkGeek at http://www.ThinkGeek.com/ > _______________________________________________ > Alsa-user mailing list > Als...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user ______________________________________________________________________ Post your ad for free now! http://personals.yahoo.ca |
