hi all. i.m using a winfast cm8738 sound card with digital addon board. i.d like to use the digital output to pipe ac3 signals from the dvb-s sat board to my dd receiver. i downloaded the cvs version of the alsa package. installed every- thing with "./cvscompile and make install". i can.t playback clear sound thru the digital output (eg. madplay /mp3/test.mp3). i have VERY bad high clipping distortions. sound is good when connected thru the analog line output. playback of the sound coming from the dvb-s cards spdif-out connected to J1 (spdif-in) of the soundcard works just fine. but only PCM of course. when i try to replay raw ac3 stream thur digital output i get the following output on the screen, and absolutely NO SOUND. (my dd receiver tells me that it gets NO INPUT.) [root@vdr izeman]# ac3dec -C /root/ac3test.ac3 Using PCM device 'iec958:AES0=0x2,AES1=0x82,AES2=0x0,AES3=0x2' AC3 Stream 48.0 KHz 448 kbps /alsa-kernel/core/pcm_native.c:1024: playback drain error (DMA or IRQ trouble?) *** comment: strg-c pressed ***** Aborted...
