I think I found a typo.

login box says, "need an account? register here1" when it should say "need an account? register here!" ?

    It was a case of double-echo

    line 92 of /include/modules/mod_controlpanel.php
    replace
    <?php echo get_lang("cp_register",1); ?>

    with
    <?php get_lang("cp_register",1); ?>
