As far as I know, yes, the source code is the only area where this change can be made.
There are probably qute a few areas where the change needs to be made, too. The currency options aremostly in the Project page code.
The bigger issue for you is that at the moment, all the currencies that allocPSA knows about are denoted with the '$' symbol, which will need to be changed to 'R'.

At present, the only way to add additional currency types is to modify the source code.
Is this still the case?
If so, is there a list of files that need to be changed? I would like to add ZAR (South African Rand) as a currency.
