Here's my current situation: I've discovered keeping sprites small means being able to do them in a normal paint program, pixel per pixel. This is good. I even get good detail. I can draw -- or somewhat handle -- sprites which are below 50x80 on a perfect 2d display with an angle of 0. This is fine for a side scroller but I'm not looking to develop that currently. My trouble is with sprites that are viewed at a 45 degree angle, or an isometric view. I'm getting no where trying to draw them. Specifically sprites of people. Does anyone out there have a URL to a tutorial that goes over some basic tips on how to draw isometric figures? Does anyone out there have examples which, if stared at enough, would help me in learning how to angle my sprites right? Please remember, I'm not using 3d models, I'm drawing these pixels per pixel. I have ac3d for Linux, a commericial 3d modeller, but I find I'm even worse at modelling. As such, I've completely ruled out using models. I might look at using a vector drawing program -- would it assist me in what I want? Can anyone recommend a free or commercial one for Linux?
