I have installed Airsnort on my laptop (compaq:evo N1005v), it is running on SuSe 8.2. I have the wireless card I use is a Cisco 340.
Everything seems to be working fine, before I start captures I register the card as eth1 and the card type selected as other. when I start a capture session airsnort seems to pick up packets but the BSSID it finds is always from an unrecognised source.
I have a netgear access point which is wrelessly linked to a stand alone pc which has a pci (Q-TEC) wireless card.
SUSe 8.2 already comes with kernal version 2.4.20, which means (I believe) already has the lastest drivers for my Cisco 304 card.
can anyone please advise me
I am all so interested in creating a continous ping so that I can speed up the scanning process
