Questions like this really don't belong on this list - they would be better directed to Cisco/Aironet tech support... With our older APs/Bridges such as this - there IS no secret keys to hold down while powering it up or anything like that to default them. When the unit is first powered on - it defaults to 9600, and then switches to whatever baud rate you have it configured for. It also at that time - switches to the proper handshaking method... (xon/xoff,hardware,both or none) If you have the serial parameters set properly on the machine attached to the console port of the bridge - you SHOULD be able to talk to it. Do you know if the bridge was set for "bridge only" mode? If not - you might try associating a wireless client to it and attempt to configure it via the client.
