Was working fine on my configuration.
Revisions 52, 53, 54 and 55 made in real time with you on MSN.
I reduced the select's timeout, but forced into the channel hopper, to hop ONLY if enough time was gone (getimeofday and if on tv_sec && tv_usec. Little more cpu consputive, but the only way to do it... I really wonders why does your computer does this, as papy's one did it too. sleep and timeouts not corrects.
I also added a test just after the moment the wireless card is set on monitor mode : we tests if any channels are available.
Some cards don't support every 14 channels.
ipw2200 developpers seems to not know the presence of a 14th channel.
The gtk warnings are related to your wireless card too. This card does send >100 power levels if I remember, so the progressbar don't work correctly.
I will look at this tomorrow, IRL with you. I will try to find a way to get the top level of power from your card. If we cannot get a top level, I will just add a 'power_max' variable (initialised to 100, or other people will be penalized), and we will just have to make a adjustement to the max.

Cannot wait until tomorrow, I did the 'instant value' max in revision 56.
It seems giving a stable power, not suck a bad idea.
