I think the ability to analize past conversations and
respond accordingly would be an important part to
any sort of intelligent software. For instance; if the
computer has a hard time answering a certain type
of question, it would come back later and analyze
any data it has on the subject. That way if the topic
came up again it would be able to answer the
question more easily.
