DownloadahCrawler is a set to implement your own search on your website and an analyzer for your web content. It can be used on a shared hosting.
It consists of
* crawler (spider) and indexer
* search for your website(s)
* search statistics
* website analyzer (http header, short titles and keywords, linkchecker, ...)
You need to install it on your own server. So all crawled data stay in your environment.
You never know when an external webspider updated your content. Trigger a rescan whenever you want - you always have under control what data of what time were checked.
The spider is a CLI tool and must be added as a cronjob.
In a web based backend you can control all data and analyze your data.
You can handle multiple websites in the same backend.

Was excited to find a stand alone search script to add to my html website but when I installed it and went to index my webpages it crashed my server. It was very easy to install and everything seemed to work fine except for the indexing part. Wish there was a way to get support from the developer to see if it was on my end or the script itself but there is no way to know.Reply from ahCrawlerEdited 2023-05-10
Hi nootkan, thanks for testing my tool and pointing to something that should be improved to handle the first steps. The origin of this project is on github.com where an issue can be opened and where are my website, mastodon page to get in contact with me. I try to put a contact into the tool itself. Concerning the problem with the server crash - maybe it was overloaded with requests? This can be found in the access + error logs of the web service. In ahcrawler is an option to limit simultaneous requests to prevent this in the settings (see https://www.axel-hahn.de/docs/ahcrawler/Web_UI_backend/Settings/Setup.html#crawler-defaults - those values each project can override).
