Hi Bill, I use NetBeans 5.5 and its some with netbeans 5.0 (I was using too, before couple of months) for some steps like creation jar files from java and class files (from awserver and awcommon) and creation war files (from awservlet servlet classes and java files) both realises offer more comfortable working moments, and for testing over SunAppServer9 its very good. NetBeans all pack is app 100 mb,(and for Linux Suse 9xx and Win XP) (for Win its need JVM/J2SDK 1.5.xx(1.5.08 latest version)) and min 500 Mb RAM memory, 1 Gb is prefer (netbeans is soo called "memory gorila" - need tones bytes! hehehe) Gordan, ps http://www.netbeans.org/about/cd-form.html its free word tour CD for netbeans 55, its could be useful Bill la Forge wrote: > > Worked Saturday. > > Tried downloading 5.5 today, but no success. > > Bill > > > --------------------------------- > Find out what India is talking about on - Yahoo! My dialup is 36KB, but slow as misery when it comes to accessing the internet. Until today. Got on at 6:00AM and it is positively snappy! So perhaps I could do a release. Encouraging. One week on the new job. Looks like this one will work out a lot better than the job at Sun, though it will likely keep me quite busy. Yesterday was for erands. one hour by bus to downtown Bangalore, 2 hours at the bank, then shopping and another hour to get back home. Still need to figure out how to do uploads, not that I've made any code changes yet. I'll see what I can do today. Meanwhile a powerstrip failed but I was able to replace it locally. Still some things remaining from the move. Last week I finally got a mobile phone. Did the change of addresses at the bank yesterday. Next I need to notify the foreign registration office of my new address. Bill --------------------------------- Find out what India is talking about on - Yahoo! Gordan, This is not looking too helpful. Lets not go all the way down to the btree. Also, you need to show cases where there is or is not a matching session. Any time you bring AwSever back up, you may get a one-time exception as the servlet can not find the old server. A new servlet is then started and everything works just fine. (good tool is dreamweawer, just reset on jsp Servlet and can be change very easily) I will trying it later, ooo just now I working on aw3010 version, but I will modify awservlet defaultClient on aw35xx Bill la Forge wrote: > > http://www.jroller.com/page/santhosh > > Here's some great code by a coworker. Sounds like that might be the reason for 'quality' issues. Steve McConnell and Kent Beck both have great books on this topic that tell you long hours means bad code. ;-) But I'm sure you alread knew that. :-D Bill la Forge wrote: > And the boss wants me to get everyone to work 9AM to 7PM, no more than > 45 min for lunch, plus weekends. > > Cheers! > > Bill > > Frank Frazier <fr...@mo...> wrote: > > Hey Bill, great news. The problem common to most shops, especially closed-source shops, is that programmers are writting for the computer, not for other developers. They write a great deal of code and feel productive. But documentation is lacking and the number of bugs is always increasing. Software should be written to be read, but programmers are reluctant communicators. Hey, the code works. Its great! No, I didn't think of the edge conditions or the odd cases--but it works ok for the normal case. Changing this is difficult. Everyone is happy doing their own thing. And they have deadlines to meet, yes? My plans have changed significantly. I am in the process of moving from one side of Bangalore to the other--about a 45 minute drive. And I have accepted the position of Director of Development for Fiorano-- www.fiorano.com These last few days were spent first in interviews at Fiorano and then looking for a place to stay. We ended up with an old English cottage on a bit of land with a lot of trees and other greenery. The wiring is modern and meets the standard for Bangalore--3KVA. The grounds are cool and relaxing in distinct contrast to the hundreds of highrise appartment buildings going up there in Whitefield. We only need to have a bit of work done to install the AC and water purifier. Now of course we need to get ready to move. Monday I should get a feasibility report from Airtel on a DSL connection. (I'd rather not go wireless--that's only 115k baud.) Move date is 31 October. After that, lets see what happens. If you look in /UserGuide/AwElements, you will see a Page for each Rolon class, a link for that class to the class it extends, and links to display the subclasses and commands. What is lacking at this point is any discription for most of those classes. :-( Bill --------------------------------- Find out what India is talking about on - Yahoo! AW is a delightful system for working with multiple realms of inter-related knowledge. Likely we will need to embelish CSecs, but it is off to a very fine start in this area. Of course, I wanted something more. I've always called Rolonics a theory of applications. So I was quite motivated to add semantics to AW. And it all works great, but still I was unhappy with implementing even a simple accounting system in AW. This discontent led me to the understanding that 2-time is really a core concept. With any system which records events, there are two dates--the date of entry into the system and the actual date of the event. AW is a time-based system, but the database uses the system date (date of entry), not the event date. Finally today I've came up with a solution--see the link below. So perhaps now we can get AW to the point where it is a meta-application system. Of course, it goes in stages. This is just another inflection point as Norm would say. Things will get a bit more dynamic when we add things like events and agents. But this looks like a huge step forward in terms of what can be accomplished using AW. With the new code deployed on agilewiki.org, each user no longer needs so many DUs in their DescriptorUnits Drawer--only their own custom DUs. The code, when it can't find a DU in the Cabinet's DU Drawer, looks in the Ark's DU Drawer. And with more than 150 cabinets at agilewiki.org, this should make a difference. Mind, new account creation is also faster. --b --------------------------------- Find out what India is talking about on - Yahoo! Answers India Send FREE SMS to your friend's mobile from Yahoo!
