Hiatus Over (?)

I know that you masses of people have been wondering, "When is some progress going to be made on ZETA?" Well, I am pleased to announce that I've decided to do a bit of restructuring in the formatting. ZETA game files will now be called .adv files, and will be following a looser, more markup-language-like format instead of the older, line-number based format.

Revamp!

I revamped the game structure. No longer will it gratuitously start new Perl processses! Instead of using three or four programs, it uses one program, and many modules! Which means the code is easier to work with and extend and such.

First News

I decided to get a SourceForge account because I currently have no other way of distributing this program. And this is better for publicity than having my own site that no one will ever see.

My current progress is:
The splash script (the part that interacts with you to get the game started) is mostly finished, and can access the license (GPL) as a summary, the full Preamble, or the whole thing, and the readme.
The readme is mostly done, and will act as a guideline of how the program works (that is, if the readme says it should happen, it must be made to happen).
The template for settings is mostly complete, and I will soon use it to re-write (again) a test-map called Escherland, which is designed to test the game and make sure it works as it should.... read more
