====== 2014R1 Release Notes ======

This release is based on the 2013R1 release and built by the 2014R1 GNU to
olchain for Blackfin to address the changes in the 2014R1 toolchain releas
e. The upstream version of u-boot is the same as that in 2013R1. Only 1 bu
g "Enable command bootldr to boot ldr images on BF60x" is fixed in contras
t to 2013R1. No complete testing log is available.





===== Build Environment =====



While we would love to test every environment out there that you may use, 
we'll document the platforms we actively develop and test on.  Refer to th
e documentation for [[:setting_up_your_development_host|setting up your sy
stem]].



Development is actively done with:

  * Toolchain: Blackfin Toolchain (GCC-4.3.5)

  * Build Platform: Ubuntu Desktop 12.04

  * Target board: BF537-STAMP, BF548-EZKIT and BF698-EZKIT boards





===== Deliverables =====



File names generally take the form ''u-boot-**<board>**-**<boot mode>**-**
<version>**.filetype''.



Each board has one tarball which contains all of the release images for th
at board.  For information on which file to use, see the [[..:compiling#bi
naries]] and [[bootloaders:bootrom#boot modes]] pages.  Additionally, a ''
u-boot.elf'' and ''init.elf'' file are included to facilitate [[..:debuggi
ng#jtag_loading|booting via JTAG]].



All files are raw binary.  That means you use them as is.  They are most c
ertainly not in the hex or srec format.  Alternative file formats are no l
onger provided as part of the release.  If you really need such a file, yo
u will need to convert it yourself.
