#2714 Extraneous Rows in Attribute Set Instance selection window

When placing a sales order (or in fact, in any situation where the ASI selection window is displayed), when choosing "choose existing instance", it looks like every single attribute set instance in the system is displayed, regardless of whether it's for the same product. Furthermore, for Attribute Set Instances that *are* for the right product, there are several hundred copies of each row.

I checked with the query that was sent to the database -- the query is returning all those extra rows, so the problem is with the query itself rather than with the display.

I am using Postgres if that's relevant.

Can you provide some more details about the sort of attribute that you see causing the problem?
