First my idea was to copy files over the connection to test it, but NFS and CIFS had any problems with server does not response, so I used a XDMCP-Connection (remote-X) and watched a video over it.(It looked more like a dia-show, the wlan-connection is to slow for 800x600 uncompressed video) With this workload I get about 11-13MBit load on the connection, with NFS a really short time up to 26MBit, but then the connection get stuck. It works a time with WPA-encryption, despite of the encryption-failed messages. But after a time (beetween 30s and 10m) the connection get stuck with no new dmesg-output. It also works a time without encryption, the dmesg-output is different, and the time is longer as with WPA, sometimes 3m, one time about an hour.(Tested both about 5 times). This time there is dmesg-output, see attached files. In unencrypted mode I also tried to reconnect to the AP with an ifdown+ifup, but then the acx-mac80211 crashed and many obscure things happend, but I could save dmesg, then I tried to rmmod acx-mac80211 and the machine freezed hard. I've much output, so I've attached some files. The firmware I used: 1.2.0.30 (from a USR-Driver for windows which works almost ok, the D-Link Driver is unusable but has firmware 2.?.?.?) One thing: I don't know if the AP works reliable, some times I think it crashed (only while testing, with an atheros-based wlan-card it works fine for many month). The AP is about 3ft away from my notebook, the signal-strength should be 100%. The AP is an D-Link DWL-2000AP+, it's a recommend one for use with my D-Link DWL-G650+. > Thanks, > Jeff > Thanks Stefan |
