I've been using these drivers for about 3 years. They have matured to the point that they are VERY stable and work as expected within the perameters of a standard Linux system.
Andreas we all owe you a great deal of thanks. We all have benefitted from your tireless dedication and effort. This accomplishment is truly a feather in your cap.
Based upon your great work with this project you should be offered a lucrative postion where you can continue to assist the open source community for many years (an OSDL job or something like that).
Should we expect this driver to be included in the mainline kernel soon? In my opinion it should be.

But, alas, I'm changing hardware and the build-in device no longer is an acx100.

I agree totally. I've been using the acx driver for as long as you have, and it has surely come a long way. Very impressive.
