Hello All ActiveLock Users, This is the last email you will see from me as the project administrator.= =20 Over the past several days I have been working with three new project=20 administrators and now they are eager to get things under way. After seeing= =20 some of the plans these new developers have for ActiveLock I have renewed= =20 faith that the project will move on and that it will be better than ever. I= =20 encourage all users who want to develop on the project to send an email to= =20 the new project administrators; you will find them hanging around on=20 act...@li....=20 The new project admins are: Terrence Kuchel, Ishmael, and Scott Nelson. I= =20 hope you will show them the same level of support that you showed Thanh and= =20 myself when we started working on version 2.0 And now some last shameless plugs. The new admins have set up a beautiful= =20 forum located at http://activelock.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/index.php also=20 know that project development continues at SourceForge.net<http://SourceForge.net>and there are lists at SourceForge on which you will find support and development news for ActiveLock. Hi, I'm trying to get the MFCSample project to launch with a valid license. I included the TestApp V1.0 in the ALUGEN product list and generated the VCode and the GCode. I used ALTestApp.exe to generate an InstallationCode (Evaluation User). I included this in the ALUGEN license key generator and saved the file in the MFC project. I also used the al.lic in C:\ but the program gives the message Invalid License (or License Expired when using al.lic). Furthermore, how is it possible to get the activelock2.dll work without MFC classes? Thanks in advance for your help. Hello All, I'm back. First, I apologize for missing your questions. I've been swamped. I will try to answer them in the next few days. I want to push through the next beta release and close out version 2.0, over the holiday when I might get some free time. So please submit the list of bugs that you would like to see fixed in the next beta. Off the top of my head, here are a few I can recall. - problem related to asian (chinese) regional settings - automatic eval. A while ago, someone in this group had an idea about including the eval days as part of the VCode. I think this is a great idea. I'm going to try to implement this and see if it will fly. Also, in the spirit of open sauce collaboration, if any of you have put any fix/enhancement in your own version of AL that you would like to share with the rest of us, please e-mail me your mod and I'll include it in the next build. Long term plan: with 2.0 out of the way, I'm going to start a new .NET version, using C#. Any body interested in being part of this effort, now's the time to sign up. But let me be frank: if you join the team, we expect you to participate regularly and not sit idling by watching every body else do all the work. If you can't handle the commitment, don't bother signing up. /Thanh |

I would like to thank you Thanh for your help in getting me started using Active Lock. I had previously skimmed through the tutorial (too fast and at a time I would have been more productive if I were asleep) and I had missed the information you provided me. I have Active Lock set up and running through a dummy program and I am very impressed with this application and it's versatility. -- To win at Freecell, hold down Ctrl+Shift+F10 To stop the clock in Minesweeper, hold down both mouse buttons and press the Escape key. |

I have active lock ver 1.7, 1.8 and 2.0.11 and am still learning as to how to include them in VB 6.0 I got 1.8 installed and working but have yet to figure out all the ins and outs of it when ver 2.0.11 was recommended by a friend. I have tried installing and it worked but it did not add anything to the VB component list. I tried compiling from the source code and it created a dll file which I tried to add to the components list to no avail. I tried checking out the tutorials but they are all geared to after it is recognized by VB. Can someone give me some direction in adding ver 2.0.11 to vb 6.0, please use the KISS method (Keep It Simple {because I am} Stupid) -- To win at Freecell, hold down Ctrl+Shift+F10 To stop the clock in Minesweeper, hold down both mouse buttons and press the Escape key. |

Hi, Did install it using the setup program or did you just copy some files over to your machine? /Thanh kevin wrote on 02/10/2004 7:59 PM: >Dear Activelock experts, >When I run the sample program for Activelock 2 beta 3, ALTestApp.vbp, a run-time error of "overflow" always occurs at MyActiveLock.Init. Dear Activelock experts, When I run the sample program for Activelock 2 beta 3, ALTestApp.vbp, a run-time error of "overflow" always occurs at MyActiveLock.Init. And even I run ALTestApp.exe, the compiled equivalent I guess, I still have the same error. So what is wrong? How do I deal with it? Thanks in advance. Kevin |

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi Bjorn, Hey, you're a C++ programmer. You should be able to look at the API doc and follow it, can't you? :-) j/k | I had a look at the example in the tutorial, but it always says the | license is invalid and from what I understood from the code, it | never shows you an installation code. I suspect that's because you haven't actually given it a valid liberation key. Suggest you read the VB tutorial for some background info. If you're using the latest release (2.0.11), the MFC example uses lockToNone as LockType so the installation code is not necessary--ALUGEN can generate liberation keys for lockToNone without requiring an installation code for input. If you want to know how to get the Installation Code anyway, please have a look at the API Documentation. Under the IActiveLock interface, there's a InstallationCode property getter method. | Wouldn't it be nice to have a MFC tutorial too ?? Yeah, that would be nice, but hey, I can't do everything by myself. :-) /Thanh Bjorn Van wrote on 30/08/2004 4:34 AM: | | Can somebody help to get started using ActiveLock in Visual C++, I | had a look at the example in the tutorial, but it always says the | license is invalid and from what I understood from the code, it | never shows you an installation code.
