Hey! the sentence 'It permit to EOMs to break ACPI support under Linux' is a more a gratuitous Troll! Actually, there is certainly no real support for free-like OS, because there is not enough users, compared to the non-free OS users on those laptop. The trouble is the internal management of the laptop. OEMs have to check that it work for the provided OS. For example, if we wake on a Toshiba 3000-100, the mouse is not reset correctly. If we say that we are on 'NT', the mouse now work as expected. Why *exactly* ? I don't know, but I suspect that a SMI handler was launched by the system in order to correct the issue for NT, but not for windows. -- Ducrot Bruno http://www.poupinou.org Page profaissionelle http://toto.tu-me-saoules.com Haume page |
