Hi, As I noticed that my message went badly due to the 8 bit coding, I resend= it=20 in 7 bit (I hope) so it gets better.=20 I have a COMPAQ Presario 1200 series (12XL515) which as a buggy DSDT I overrided following instructions from Paul to overcome the _SB invalid sc= ope problem, and I found the following. With stock kernel 2.4.14 (I apologise for being a user, not a developper,= so I'm not always after the latest patch), if I use: i=3D100 in ectransx.c, I have no battery information at all ./proc/acpi/b= attery has no entries. System does poweroff. i=3D200, I have battery information but is incorrect. Wrong battery type. Systems does poweroff. i=3D400, I have correct battery info. System does poweroff. (In fact I thought this was true, but it isn't anymore with 2.4.14 or 2.4= =2E16.=20 Battery Info is wrong, says it is NiMH, when it is LiIon (and Maximum cha= rge=20 is wrong too) i=3D500, Battery status OK, system doesn't poweroff I hope this helps solving the problem. Now I'm going to experiment with=20 i=3D450. Wasn't here a kernel option to choose this value without recompi= ling?=20 I remember some comments about this but I don't how it ended, and I could= n't=20 find anything in docs. In the meanwhile /proc/acpi/event doesn't change with power button or=20 anything else I could see. I don't know if I understood wrong the idea, b= ut=20 watching it with tail -f gets nothing. I have sent my DSDT once to Paul, = but=20 I can resend if needed. I'm not working with my laptop in this moment, so= I=20 can't send dmesg too, but I noticed that it detects multiple powerbuttons= (FF=20 and CM). A last question that probably has nothing to do with this. My laptop is=20 supposed of having almost no APM support. However, if I boot with APM on,= it=20 detects APM Bios 1.2, gives me wrong power info, and... if I do apm -s, i= t=20 seems to hybernate. At least, it goes off, and I can't find a way of powe= ring=20 it on again without pulling out the battery and the AC adapter which rese= ts=20 everything. Shouldn't this mean that I should be able to resume somehow? Keep on the good work, Lu=EDs Neves Best regards, Lu=EDs Neves |
