Hi, I have a toshiba satellite 5005 'legacy free' laptop. It's BIOS is limited to only initializing the devices it needs to boot. All other devices are left unconfigured. When reading the PCI_INTERRUPT_LINE from their config spaces, it returns 255. The linux kernel ignores these devices, so these become useless. Their are only 2 solutions I can think of: * hard-code irq numbers in linux kernel (very ugly hack) * let acpi configure these devices (this laptop conforms to acpi 1.0b) I tried kernel 2.4.16 with the acpi 20011205 patch. Although I get a IRQ table printed out, the devices aren't configured. I heard this wasn't implemented yet, so my question is: what needs to be done, and how can I help? Best regards, Jan PS. this mail is CCed to 500...@to..., a mailing list set up for getting linux on the satellite 5005 <http://www.topica.com/lists/5005-linux> |
