#1 <PRE> tags are not rendered correctly

In <PRE> tags, line breaks are not honoured.

This is because of the line :

$content =~ s|[\n\r]| |g; # temporary hack

which removes all line breaks. This shouldn't matter in normal HTML, but has terrible effects on pre-rendered text.
