YT Short Clipper is a free, open-source Windows application that converts long YouTube videos into vertical clips for social media. It uses AI to identify engaging segments from video transcripts and suggest highlights. Users can guide clip selection by specifying topics, time ranges, or content to exclude. The software downloads videos and subtitles through yt-dlp and processes footage using FFmpeg. It offers face-tracking, centered, and blurred-background reframing for 9:16 videos. Word-by-word captions are generated from existing subtitles, with optional hooks and watermarks. The application exports MP4 clips and supports uploading and scheduling through Repliz. Built with Tauri, React, and Python, it simplifies short-form video production.
