USBMap is an open-source Python utility for identifying and configuring USB ports on macOS systems, particularly Hackintosh computers. It helps resolve compatibility problems caused by macOS's limit of 15 recognized USB ports per controller. The software discovers connected USB controllers and records port activity as users connect different devices. It supports XHCI, EHCI, OHCI, and UHCI controllers, including certain third-party and AMD implementations. Users can assign descriptive nicknames to discovered ports and distinguish USB 2.0 and USB 3.x connections. USBMap generates customized kernel extensions that exclude unused ports and preserve the necessary physical connections. It can also generate ACPI adjustments for controller renaming and root hub configuration. The utility operates without requiring USBInjectAll.kext.
