Robo 3T, formerly Robomongo, is a free, open-source MongoDB management application designed for developers and database administrators. It provides a graphical interface for exploring databases, collections, documents, and indexes. Unlike conventional database interfaces, it embeds an actual MongoDB shell for executing native database commands. Users can open multiple shell tabs, run JavaScript queries, and inspect results through different display modes. Its connection manager supports authentication and SSH tunneling for accessing remote databases. The application also provides document editing and index management capabilities. Available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, Robo 3T remains accessible as a legacy tool, although official development ended with version 1.4.4.

Features

  • Graphical MongoDB database and collection management
  • Embedded MongoDB shell with native command execution
  • Tabbed query editor and JavaScript query support
  • Document browsing, editing, and result visualization
  • SSH tunneling and authenticated remote connections
  • Index management and database navigation
