Refined Twitter is an archived browser extension that modified Twitter’s older web interface to remove clutter and add practical usability improvements. It simplified the layout, hid promoted tweets, and automatically loaded new posts when the timeline was already at the top. The extension corrected awkward image filename extensions and could use original-resolution images in galleries. It also added conveniences such as syntax highlighting in code blocks, mention highlighting, alternative-text display, and a Likes navigation button. Several behaviors were configurable through extension settings, including visual and timeline-related changes. It supported Chrome and could also be used through compatible Opera extension support. The project is no longer maintained because Twitter’s website rewrite broke the extension’s modification approach.
