ReelMimic

ReelMimic is an open-source AI video creation platform that generates original animated videos inspired by the visual style of reference footage. Users can provide video files, phone recordings, or YouTube links alongside a description of the desired result. The software analyzes editing rhythms, shot durations, transitions, colors, framing, and camera movements. It then creates a production plan containing storyboards, character designs, assets, and style references for approval. Multiple AI agents collaborate to generate individual shots and review completed work. Users can monitor production, inspect revisions, and leave timestamped feedback directly on the video. ReelMimic runs locally with Claude Code or Codex and supports several 2D animation styles, including watercolor, pixel art, and motion graphics.
