MoonTV is a self-hosted cross-platform media aggregation and playback application. It is built with Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS and combines search results from user-configured content sources. The interface provides detailed media pages with episode lists, cast information, release years, and descriptions. Playback uses HLS.js and ArtPlayer, while favorites and viewing progress can synchronize through Kvrocks, Redis, or Upstash. The application also supports PWA installation, responsive desktop and mobile layouts, and experimental removal of advertising segments from streams. Deployment is Docker-based, and the project deliberately ships without built-in media or live-TV sources, requiring users to supply their own configurations.

Features

  • Multi-source movie and television search
  • HLS.js and ArtPlayer video playback
  • Favorites and synchronized viewing history
  • Kvrocks, Redis, and Upstash storage support
