LoFloccus is a free, open-source desktop companion application designed to synchronize browser bookmarks from Floccus into local folders. It provides an alternative to storing bookmarks directly on dedicated WebDAV or Nextcloud servers. The software runs a lightweight local WebDAV server that receives bookmark data from the Floccus browser extension. Users can synchronize the resulting files with cloud storage or file synchronization tools such as Dropbox, Syncthing, and rsync. Security restrictions limit file access to a designated directory and supported bookmark formats. LoFloccus generates unique connection credentials and stores configuration preferences between sessions. Available for Windows and macOS, it operates from the system tray or menu bar.

Features

  • Local browser bookmark synchronization through the Floccus extension and WebDAV
  • Compatibility with Dropbox, Syncthing, rsync, and other file synchronization tools
  • Embedded WebDAV server with automatically generated connection credentials
  • Restricted directory access with support for XBEL and HTML bookmark files
  • Persistent bookmark storage locations and synchronization configuration settings
  • Lightweight Windows system tray and macOS menu bar integration
