Guardian Eye is a privacy-focused desktop video surveillance application that keeps camera footage and processing on the user's own hardware. It supports multiple camera sources, including ONVIF devices, RTSP or RTSPS streams, and USB webcams. Built-in AI can detect motion and objects, while audio analytics can identify events such as barking, alarms, or breaking glass. Smart recording supports event triggers, pre-record buffers, segmented files, and automatic storage cleanup. The software can also detect camera tampering, including lens obstruction, defocus, and static-image substitution. Live feeds can be viewed from a browser on the local network, while alerts can be sent through Telegram, email, or Home Assistant. It runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS and supports several hardware-acceleration backends.
