Channel3 is an experimental ESP8266 project that generates analog television signals directly from a microcontroller GPIO pin. It uses the ESP8266 I2S peripheral at an 80 MHz bit rate and DMA buffers to synthesize radio-frequency waveforms. An antenna connected to the output can transmit a signal receivable by an analog television tuned to Channel 3. The implementation produces luma and color information through carefully constructed one-bit modulation patterns. Several demonstration screens show text, graphics, color swatches, lines, and simple 3D scenes. A browser interface lets users select demos and experiment with generated modulation patterns. The project also includes experimental PAL support and documentation explaining its unusual RF and video-generation techniques.
