Aether is a censorship-circumvention client designed for networks where filtering, deep packet inspection, protocol fingerprinting, throttling, and endpoint blocking are common. It automatically searches for reachable gateways and validates that a route can actually pass data before trusting it. The client can establish encrypted connectivity through MASQUE over HTTP/3 or HTTP/2 and also supports WireGuard-based modes. Traffic obfuscation and optional TLS ClientHello fragmentation are available for environments that inspect connection patterns. Automatic reconnection can reuse the last known working gateway instead of repeating a full scan. Applications connect through a local SOCKS5 proxy exposed by Aether. Prebuilt releases target Linux, Windows, macOS, and Android through Termux, while the source is primarily built with Rust.
