    oslsachem - 2008-10-12

The main topic of this meeting would be to plan the roadmap for the next release.

As a side point, we could evaluate the efficiency with which the means available to the project are being used (irc, forums and other collaborative tools like plone, wiki and testing procedures before a release, etc.)

Besides, the impact of the new damage system could be discussed and the proposal of adapted raids and new sociable offerings alternative to training to promote team work and encourage users to stay longer online.

Another point could be to decide if a "community feel"-enhancing splash screen voting system should be adopted.

Also, as Halloween is getting nearer,  it could be decided if a Semos mine town revival could be held this year.

Finally, the idea of this forum thread would be that everyone posted a reply indicating what days and times of the week she had available and then trying to find a common day and time that fitted most of us, if not all.

Well, the date for next developers meeting has been set to:

      Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 18:00 UTC/GMT

Again, look at http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ to find out what your "Current time zone offset" is.

      In my case:

Barcelona, Spain is the nearest city for me.

So my time will be:  "UTC/GMT +2 hours"

So, that means that my local time will be: "18:00 + 2 hours = 20:00"

        Sorry, I had forgotten it:

Please feel free to add more topics to this forum thread if you want to talk about them in the meeting, as a reminder.

I see there was a new item added to agenda:
      - Suggestion on ways to improve interpersonal relations inside the project.

It wasn't in this forum message and i don't remember seeing it in irc. who proposed it, can i ask? what kind of discussion did they anticipate?

That has been a "last minute" item added by me myself :)
It represents a personal perception about a lack of motivation and coordination between the members of the project.
About the kind of discussion I anticipate ... No idea, though it is certainly no coincidence that it is reserved for the end of the meeting :).
I don't intend to open Pandora's Box but I think it's important to come to terms with it.
It must be possible to discuss calmly about the possible sources of mix-ups and to get some commitment.
I think it is essential for the health of the project that we are able to cope with constructive criticism, to discuss openly about decisions or policies, to disagree with or challenge a certain assumption or piece of work and to learn to do it in a respectful and objective way, calmly and without it being felt or considered as a personal discredit, reproach or blaming.
This combines with the fact that currently assuming a task means doing so without further support or feedback, which often results in a cumbersome workload and an accumulation of responsibility and the contributor ends up facing excessive pressure and exhaustion.
Along this line, it seems to me that achieving an effective and up-to-date communication and a degree of personal commitment plays a vital role in this, as the origin of these problems often resides in a failure to acknowledge the setting and in an excessively delayed or uncoordinated response.

      - Celebration of Semos mine town revival for Halloween

we should remember to discuss Susi and finding her as well as how to deal with the Ados NPCs. we had started to discuss this before when talking about the release.

Osl was nominated to chair the meeting.

Someone should also copy the log into the wiki page and summarise the meeting. That wasn't done for the last set of meetins unfortunately

Ok, I'll assume both tasks: chairing and summarizing.
