AFAIS those who often answer gets to grow their fame and increase their chances of contracts grow. IF we try to sell DVDs, none get sold. If it does, someone will pirate and copy it without paying us. If we contribute to make our names famous, that fame cannot be copied and stolen.
Well there will always be 2 different schools of thought. Those who think fame is most important. And there are those who think those who wants fame forget and lose money by doing so. Actually both are the same. That is why it is called, "Rich and Famous".

Free answers are completely OK. I'm ready to provide free advices and guidance in this forums and i make it since 2.5 years.
But i see many users who wrongly think that they can implement ERP system without support contract with Adempiere development company. I have read few posts where users urgently requested answer and pushed Adempiere developers to provide free support. This is completely unacceptable behavior for me and such implementors/companies are completely irresponsible for end users. They put implementation at 100% failure risk. This is their responsibility but at the end of the day end user will point Adempiere project and will say that it do not work. But this is not the truth as implementor was not responsible in such case.
That's why i'm trying to remind from time to time that 'hope' is good but only with 'hope' you can't provide what client needs. Don't forget that developers write the code!

IMHO Open Source is the best excuse for bad software and lazy IT company. And also the best success maker. Look at many of the OS projects. It started as bad software (according to criticsm) and still continue horribly (according to criticsm). But they made money and still made money.

'A' has a reality and he's expressing a feeling of 'hope' - some others express a need 'urgency' - that's their reality at the moment they write - they hope - they're urged - they expect. Indeed, that's obvious they won't write if they don't hope for answers :-) And I suppose when somebody write 'urgent' it can be because at that moment of his reality he has an urgent need.
'B' has a different reality - every message including 'hope' or 'urgent' words trigger a feeling of discomfort in B's reality - and B is urged to express his discomfort on the same forums
'X' - another receiver of the message in this community (i.e. myself) - has a different reality - I don't interpret the words 'hope' or 'urgency' as compelling - I don't feel compelled to answer because of those words in a message, and personally I don't interpret that if somebody write 'hope' or 'urgent' then such person is irresponsible.
I'm an implementor and also sell services in Adempiere - and I consider myself responsible - and many times I ask in these forums 'hoping' answers, and MANY TIMES I write in these forums with a big need of urgency (as well as I don't express it knowing that is not good seen in free forums).
Hey!!! There is a new message from 'B' that was interpreted according to 'X' (my) reality - and possibly the sender 'B' have a different intention on his message - what a chain of possibilities of misinterpretation!!
Anyways :-) To finish this dissertation :-) I like to add my 0,02 of misinterpretation with a new message.
I also feel uncomfortable receiving in my inbox - and opening, and reading just to discard - the little flames every time somebody write a word in this forum that Trifon doesn't like.
Those are simple questions (and feelings) from people with needs - if somebody doesn't want to answer - just simply don't answer. But currently many requests for help are polluted with unnecessary flames that makes search harder.
I 'Hope' not to offend anybody with this misinterpretation according to my reality ;-)

If you look in the forums you will find that there and other words that trigger small flames.
For example such words are 'commit into trunk'.
When i read that someone wants to commit into trunk it brings good feeling to me and i fully support him.
For other this words trigger not so good feelings and they stop newborn contributor from acting.
But all this is normal. At the end of the day we are human.
I also feel uncomfortable receiving in my inbox - and opening, and reading just to discard - unwilling of comitters to accept contributions.

The Amount in words is really there. like Trifon said, you can take a look at the code (in dbPort/src/org.compiere.util package if yuo work with 3.2 version or in base/src/org.compiere.util if you work with trunk) and see if there exists a class for the language you're interested in. If so, there's only one little effort you're supposed to do.
In ADempiere go at a document you will use (Invoice, Order, ...) and push the print button.
When the print form of your document pops up there is no amount in words on it. Press the 'Customize Report'.
The 'Print Format' window appears, focused on the record responsible for showing your document's print form.
Go to the 'Display Order' tab with the two lists of 'Available Choices' and 'Sequence'.
In the first list the third item is 'Amt in Word'. It should switch lists...
and the rest is history ;) If your system language is supported by one of the aforementioned classes, the Amount in words will show properly on the print form. Its exact position on the paper depends on your requirements and skills with the 'Display Order' and 'Format Item' tabs.
I guess I presented this one of the possible solutions (this is the long way) too detailed to you, but in my opinion tuts posted here should be available for understanding even for the complete rookies (like me).

I do not see how a implementor company can hide a feature which is listed in Adempiere site.
We are open and user can see what is part of distribution from Adempiere site.
If a company lie you than you are free to choose other implementor company.
In closed source projects you can be lied to, but i'm not sure that you will have the same freedom to switch the vendor or implementor.

But do provide some background details so we can evaluate, such as; I'm a wholesaler in “someplace” with multiple warehouses 100 miles apart and using Adempiere for Sales, Purchasing & Inventory management.
Keep in mind also, that under the terms of the GPL license you should receive the source code to Adempiere AND all enhancements/localizations delivered which you can and are entitled to contribute back to the project! Access to the source ensure no “lock in” either to the application OR the services. This ability to walk away without loss of investment should ensure less risk for you and a quality service from the provider.
My top advice would be to try, if at all possible, to find an implementor who is active in the community here then you should be sure that you have found a provider who has a stake in the success of the project and every successful implementation and happy user of Adempiere is a big success. Again, if you can't find one ask the BDC and we can advise if any such exists and what the best options are.

Yes, this is possible.
Adempiere can print amount in words in several languages.
You can find in source code AmtInWords_Xx classes.
