compiling 'calc' for Win32

Has anyone managed to get 'calc' from http://www.isthe.com/chongo/tech/comp/calc/index.html
compiled under XP or win2k? I gave it my best shot(read newbie) using MinGW/MSYS but can not get past all the errors. According to the docs it can be done.
