Mycroft is the world’s leading open source voice assistant. It is private by default and completely customizable. Our software runs on many platforms, on desktop, our reference hardware, a Raspberry Pi, or your own custom hardware. Our open-source, modular system can be ported to your device or environment, at any price point. Whether you make voice-assistants, televisions, or microwaves. Rasa is an open source machine learning framework to automate text-and voice-based conversations. With Rasa, you can build contextual assistants on Facebook Messenger, Slack, Google Hangouts, Webex Teams, Microsoft Bot Framework, Rocket.Chat, Mattermost, Telegram, and Twilio or on your own custom conversational channels. Rasa helps you build contextual assistants capable of having layered conversations with lots of back-and-forths. In order for a human to have a meaningful exchange with a contextual assistant, the assistant needs to be able to use context to build on things that were previously discussed. Rasa enables you to build assistants that can do this in a scalable way. Rasa uses Poetry for packaging and dependency management. If you want to build it from the source, you have to install Poetry first. By default, Poetry will try to use the currently activated Python version to create the virtual environment for the current project automatically.

Rhasspy (ˈɹæspi) is an open-source, fully offline set of voice assistant services for many human languages that works well with Hermes protocol-compatible services (Snips.AI), Home Assistant and Hass.io, Node-RED, Jeedom, OpenHAB. Rhasspy will produce JSON events that can trigger action in home automation software, such as a Node-RED flow. Rhasspy comes with a snazzy web interface that lets you configure, program, and test your voice assistant remotely from your web browser. All of the web UI's functionality is exposed in a comprehensive HTTP API. You can easily extend or replace functionality in Rhasspy by using the appropriate messages. Many of these messages can be also sent and received over the HTTP API and the WebSocket API. Rhasspy is intended for savvy amateurs or advanced users that want to have a private voice interface to their chosen home automation software.

ILA stands for (kind of) intelligent, learning assistant and is a speech recognition system aka voice assistant very similar to Siri, Google Now and Cortana. ILA is fully customizable and you can teach her/him/it new things by yourself like executing system commands, opening web pages, programs and apps or just some basic conversation :-) ILA runs on Java und thus is compatible to Windows, Mac and Linux. It is designed to integrate with your home enviroment and for example build up your own, free and open Amazon Echo replacement ;-) Right now the key components of ILA are the open source speech recognition CMU Sphinx-4, Google (Speech Recognition/Text-To-Speech) and MaryTTS (Text-To-Speech). The goal is to make ILA completely free of Google by improving all aspects of the open source systems. Since version 3.3 users can also write own add-ons to extend ILA. Just download the above zip file, extract it first and then open the index.html file on internet browsers like Firefox ( preferable ) or Google Chrome. Also, keep NumLock ON while using the Numeric Keypad of any Keyboard. Can also attach an external USB keyboard, with seperate Numeric Keypad, if required. I have added some general guidelines for students, using these softwares, on the Wiki Page of this website. Please refer them for more instructions.

Olivia is an open-source chatbot built in Golang using Machine Learning technologies. Its goal is to provide a free and open-source alternative to big services like DialogFlow. You can chat with her by speaking (STT) or writing, she replies with a text message but you can enable her voice (TTS). Olivia can listen to you by saying “Hey Olivia” or clicking on the central button. She speaks to reply to you unless you've disabled her voice. Olivia respects your privacy. All the data used by Olivia is saved in your client. Olivia is organized in modules to facilitate the addition of new capabilities. These modules can be written in Go to execute multiple tasks. The project is entirely open-source from the website to the backend. Thus you can build your own chatbot and contribute to Olivia. You can directly add the PWA to your home screen from the website, and you won't remember that it is a website running behind this native-like app.

Project Alice is a smart voice home assistant that is completely modular and extensible. It was first built around Snips therefore runs entirely offline and never sends or shares your voice interactions with anyone, Project Alice guarantees your privacy in your home or wherever you’re using Project Alice. However, as an option, since we've built Project Alice on top of Snips, Project Alice can be configured to use some online alternatives and fall backs (for example, using Amazon or Google’s Text to Speech engines), just like Snips. Since Snips (and the Project Alice team) strongly believe that decisions about your privacy should be made by you and you alone, these options are all disabled by default. The original code base was started at the end 2015 and several rewrites made it what it is today. It was entirely written by me Psycho until recently, where I decided to make the code openly available to the world.

Snips NLU is a Natural Language Understanding python library that allows to parse sentences written in natural language, and extract structured information. It’s the library that powers the NLU engine used in the Snips Console that you can use to create awesome and private-by-design voice assistants. The exact output is a bit richer, the point here is to give a glimpse on what kind of information can be extracted. Behind every chatbot and voice assistant lies a common piece of technology: Natural Language Understanding (NLU). Anytime a user interacts with an AI using natural language, their words need to be translated into a machine-readable description of what they meant. The NLU engine first detects what the intention of the user is (a.k.a. intent), then extracts the parameters (called slots) of the query. The developer can then use this to determine the appropriate action or response.

Adds support for Yandex Smart Home (Alice voice assistant) into Home Assistant. The component allows you to add devices from Home Assistant to the Yandex smart home platform and manage them from any device with Alice. The component runs on Home Assistant version 2023.2 or later.
