Olivia is an open-source chatbot built in Golang using Machine Learning technologies. Its goal is to provide a free and open-source alternative to big services like DialogFlow. You can chat with her by speaking (STT) or writing, she replies with a text message but you can enable her voice (TTS). Olivia can listen to you by saying “Hey Olivia” or clicking on the central button. She speaks to reply to you unless you've disabled her voice. Olivia respects your privacy. All the data used by Olivia is saved in your client. Olivia is organized in modules to facilitate the addition of new capabilities. These modules can be written in Go to execute multiple tasks. The project is entirely open-source from the website to the backend. Thus you can build your own chatbot and contribute to Olivia. You can directly add the PWA to your home screen from the website, and you won't remember that it is a website running behind this native-like app. -

Project Alice is a smart voice home assistant that is completely modular and extensible. It was first built around Snips therefore runs entirely offline and never sends or shares your voice interactions with anyone, Project Alice guarantees your privacy in your home or wherever you’re using Project Alice. However, as an option, since we've built Project Alice on top of Snips, Project Alice can be configured to use some online alternatives and fall backs (for example, using Amazon or Google’s Text to Speech engines), just like Snips. Since Snips (and the Project Alice team) strongly believe that decisions about your privacy should be made by you and you alone, these options are all disabled by default. The original code base was started at the end 2015 and several rewrites made it what it is today. It was entirely written by me Psycho until recently, where I decided to make the code openly available to the world. -

Drag the Voice.xcodeproj from the @react-native-voice/voice/ios folder to the Libraries group on Xcode in your project. Click on your main project file (the one that represents the .xcodeproj) select Build Phases and drag the static library, lib.Voice.a, from the Libraries/Voice.xcodeproj/Products folder to Link Binary With Libraries. The plugin provides props for extra customization. Every time you change the props or plugins, you'll need to rebuild (and prebuild) the native app. If no extra properties are added, defaults will be used. While the included VoiceTest app works without explicit permissions checks and requests, it may be necessary to add a permission request for RECORD_AUDIO for some configurations. Since Android M (6.0), user need to grant permission at runtime (and not during app installation). -

Rhasspy (ˈɹæspi) is an open-source, fully offline set of voice assistant services for many human languages that works well with Hermes protocol-compatible services (Snips.AI), Home Assistant and Hass.io, Node-RED, Jeedom, OpenHAB. Rhasspy will produce JSON events that can trigger action in home automation software, such as a Node-RED flow. Rhasspy comes with a snazzy web interface that lets you configure, program, and test your voice assistant remotely from your web browser. All of the web UI's functionality is exposed in a comprehensive HTTP API. You can easily extend or replace functionality in Rhasspy by using the appropriate messages. Many of these messages can be also sent and received over the HTTP API and the WebSocket API. Rhasspy is intended for savvy amateurs or advanced users that want to have a private voice interface to their chosen home automation software. -

The exact output is a bit richer, the point here is to give a glimpse on what kind of information can be extracted. Behind every chatbot and voice assistant lies a common piece of technology: Natural Language Understanding (NLU). Anytime a user interacts with an AI using natural language, their words need to be translated into a machine-readable description of what they meant. The NLU engine first detects what the intention of the user is (a.k.a. intent), then extracts the parameters (called slots) of the query. The developer can then use this to determine the appropriate action or response. -
