A collection of tools and scripts for processing images and video from attached USB and FireWire webcams on Mac OS X. To start things off, there is a command-line tool for capturing webcam images.

XdTV allows you to watch, record & stream TV. It interacts with AleVT & Nxtvepg & supports the bttv, bktr & dvb APIs. It contains some deinterlacing filters and record video with various containers (AVI, MPEG, OGG..) and many codecs (FFMpeg, XviD, Ogg..)

capturetv is a simple bash script which simplifies the process of capturing TV via MEncoder. The script also optionally calculates the optimal bitrate depending on how many minutes you want to burn to CD and burns it.

furious_tv is a set of tools to take XMLTV TV listings and enable a UNIX system to automatically record programs off of a TV card. It is written in C and uses a SAX parser for maximum speed and efficiency. ftv_gnome is the GNOME interface to the PVR.

Bash script for doing timeshift TV (pause, fast forward and rewind while watching TV) using limited resources. Developed for analog capture devices compatible with v4l2, including digital television hybrid cards (Not all v4l2 devices are checked, tested with bttv, saa7134, TV hybrid cards cx88 and USB em28xx). You can also try the server side (same script) that works like a timeshift provider of captured files for a local network. Usage: Install transcode* and xawtv, configure OSS sound capture (if you use pulseaudio then install oss-compat [deb] and libasound2-plugins [deb] or alsa-plugins-pulse [rpm] packages) and enable "repeat playlist" on your video player, then: ./timeshift.sh [OPTION1 value] [OPTION2 value] ... ./timeshift.sh -h for help *Be sure transcode is compiled with a working import_v4l2.so plugin.

Udrec_suite provides a networked video recorder for the dbox 2 under neutrino. It is targeted to be easily installed, configured and executed under Linux and is fully transparent to the user infront of the dbox. Includes dvdwizard for DVD-generation

wVDR is a smart Video Disk Recorder using "vcr" by Bram Avontuur. It features programming the schedule by wishes (e.g. "every movie with actor XY") in addition to conventional "channel, start time and duration"

The main objetive for the xivtv project is to provide an easy gui to use the ivtv driver based tools.

This is a simple but powerful bash script to create stop motion and time-lapse videos from an Internet URL or an attached video device (see examples). Simply point it at an image source, set the capture frequency, and starting recording stillframes. You can view your stillframes as a video, or convert to a true video format at any point. Bad frames can be browsed/removed with the operating system file browser.
