WingetUI is an intuitive, responsive and nice-looking user interface for the most common (command-line) package managers for Windows 10 and Windows 11. With this program, you'll be able to easily download, install, update and uninstall any software that's published on those package managers. The available packages range from well-known software such as browsers, pdf readers and other common programs to other less-known utilities such as vim for windows, which I bet you didn't know it existed. This project has no connection with Winget, Chocolatey or Scoop — it's completely unofficial. You can also use a custom pattern by setting the option to "Custom" and editing the output template field. You can change the number of max parallel downloads by editing the "workers_number" option in your settings.json file. You can add extra youtube-dl command line options in the commands box under the Options>Extra tab. You can use your own version of youtube-dl by editing the "youtubedl_path" option in your settings.json file and make it point to your own binary (e.g. /usr/local/bin). -

Gooey is a tool for transforming command line interfaces into beautiful desktop applications. It can be used as the frontend client for any language or program. Whether you've built your application in Java, Node, or Haskell, or you just want to put a pretty interface on an existing tool like FFMPEG, Gooey can be used to create a fast, practically free UI with just a little bit of Python (about 20 lines!). To show how this all fits together, and that it really works for anything, we're going to walk through building a graphical interface to one of my favorite tools of all time: FFMPEG. These steps apply to anything, though! You could swap out FFMPEG for a .jar you've written, or an arbitrary windows .exe, an OSX .app bundle, or anything on linux that's executable! It’s highly configurable but comes with sensible defaults out of the box. Click in three points, arbitrary nesting of commands, automatic help page generation, supports lazy loading of subcommands at runtime. Comes with useful common helpers (getting terminal dimensions, ANSI colors, fetching direct keyboard input, screen clearing, finding config paths, launching apps and editors, etc.). Click actually implements its own parsing of arguments and does not use optparse or argparse following the optparse parsing behavior. Click is designed to be fun and customizable but not overly flexible. -
